Anantya in the Village is ideally located to visit many prominent temples in Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi. If you are visiting Alwarthirunagari for a darshan of Perumal, you can simply walk from the homestay to the temple. Located on the western side of the temple, our balcony is a great spot to sit and watch the processions on festival days.
For darshans at Navathirupathi, Navakailsam, or Tiruchendur our taxi will chaperon you. A guide can also be requested.
Be it spiritual, architectural, or religious pursuit, visiting Navathirupathi is a must! Interestingly, these temples have Vishnu represented as a “Navagraham”, one of the 9 celestial/planetary bodies.
Follow the lotus flowers floating down the Thamirabarani river to the sea and visit the nine Shiva temples dedicated to the celestial bodies. Learn of the legend from us and then visit the Navakailasam Shiva temples.
The famous Murugan temple by the beach is iconic in these parts and beyond. Witness the bhakti of devotees who pierce themselves, carry Kavadi, do angapradhakshinam, to please Muruga. A visit here takes on a spiritual, religious and a beachside tone!
